Travel Weekly’s Magellan Awards, which honor outstanding design, marketing and services in a broad range of travel industry segments, is accepting entries through Friday, July 15.
Travel Weekly has already received more than 400 entries from 125 companies.
The annual Magellan Awards honor outstanding design, marketing and services in the following segments: Airlines and Airports, Cruise Lines, Ground Transportation, Hospitality, Online Travel Services, Travel Destinations, Travel Advisors and Tour Operators.
Categories have been added this year to honor industry efforts in areas such as sustainability, diversity/equity/inclusion, travel-with-a-purpose promotions, culinary/cuisine, giving-back initiatives, solo travelers, co-op travel agency campaigns and more.
“This year, Travel Weekly has expanded its categories to reflect the innovation, creativity and ingenuity of the travel industry,” said Mary Pat Sullivan, senior vice president of marketing for Travel Weekly and the Northstar Travel Group. “We needed to be sure our Magellan Awards would reflect the efforts that have brought our industry roaring back from the pandemic.”
The Magellan Awards are judged by a one-of-a-kind panel of top travel professionals, representing some of the most accomplished leaders in the industry. Entries are not judged against each other but judged on their individual merit; categories might have multiple winners or no winners depending on judges’ scores.
New judges have been added to the roster this year, including cruise and luxury industry veteran Larry Pimentel, tour operator/river cruise leader Paula Hayes and technology leader Marilyn Macallair.
