Road trips have become more popular in the past few years, and RV travel became trendy again. Traveling and camping in an RV in Lake Tahoe is a great way to see and experience the natural beauty of the region, and gives you the opportunity to stay right next to the lake. There are several RV camping sites that let you hook up an RV with electric, water, and sewer service, so you can enjoy the outdoors without fully roughing it.
Ahead you’ll find seven options for RV rentals and RV camping sites for your next road adventure.
Lake Tahoe RV Rentals
2020 NeXus RV Triumph 24T
If you’re looking for an RV that’s big enough but not overwhelming, this 25-foot-long RV can be handled even by beginners. It has a slide-out to make the living/sleeping space a little roomier, and with three beds (including one bunk bed), it can sleep six people.
Inside you’ll also find a TV, a kitchen with a full-sized refrigerator sink, range, and microwave, and a bathroom with a toilet, sink, and shower. You can pick it up in Nevada or have it delivered to your location of choice for a fee. Pets are welcome.
2021 Ram Promaster
Get a taste of van life with this converted Sprinter van, which can sleep two people and has all the amenities you need on the road. It has a refrigerator, kitchen sink, toilet, electric generator, hot and cold water, an iPod docking station, and more. It will make a great companion for your next road or camping trip.
Frog Pod Tow
For those who want to add a tow onto their existing vehicle, this solar-paneled Frog Pod is 23 feet long and will do the trick. The trailer has bunk beds, a pull-out sofa, and a queen-size Murphy bed, so there’s enough room to sleep five people. The kitchen includes a tea kettle, coffee maker, pans, knives, bowls, cutting boards, a range, a microwave, utensils, seasonings, and more.
Outside, you can get camp chairs, captain chairs, a table, a beach umbrella, and a pop-up canopy, and you can also request add-ons like a tent, kayaks, and stand-up paddle boards. You can ask for delivery and pickup within a 100-mile radius of South Lake Tahoe.
Lake Tahoe RV Campsites
Tahoe Valley Campground
This South Tahoe RV park has over sites available year-round for tent and RV campers. The park has something for everyone — full RV hook-ups; water, electric, and sewer service; showers; toilets, laundry facilities; a playground, a dog park; horseshoes; and a picnic area. Enjoy the nearby hiking, and the lake itself, or you’re also close enough to the Stateline to head into town and enjoy a casino or two.
Zephyr Cove RV Park and Campground
Located on the southeast shore of Lake Tahoe, you’ll be nestled in the woods, close to the beach, and just steps away from countless outdoor activities. There are 93 RV campsites that can accommodate vehicles up to 40’ long, as well as cable TV lines; water, electric, and sewer service, a picnic table, and more. And even though you’ll be camping, you’ll have access to resort amenities, laundry facilities, showers/toilets, and WiFi in the resort lobby and restaurant.
If you don’t bring your own RV, you can also book an Airstream for a unique experience.
Camp Richardson Resort
Both tent and RV campers can enjoy this full-service campground in a forest next to the beach. The RV village includes sites with partial (electric and water, no sewer) or full (electric, water, sewer) hookups, and every site includes a picnic table and fire pit. If you need to pick up any last-minute items, there’s a General Store & Deli, as well as a nearby restaurant and ice cream parlor.
Campground by the Lake
Set up your RV right by the lake, as the name of this campground says. Campground by the Lake is owned and operated by the City of South Lake Tahoe, and is within walking distance to the lake and across the street from El Dorado Beach. Currently, all sites are considered dry sites, so there are no electric or water hookups, but there is water available at the campground entrance and water spigots located around, and shops and restaurants are not far away. On the campground, you’ll also find showers and restroom facilities, BBQs, and picnic tables.
